What to Expect

where safety, confidence, and skill-building are our top priorities.

Below, you will find important information about what to expect during swim lessons, key policies from our lesson agreement, and tips to ensure a smooth and successful experience for your family.

What to Expect During Swim Lessons

At Schieber Swim School, we specialize in self-rescue lessons designed to equip your child with essential water safety skills. It's normal for children to cry during their first few lessons. Crying is a natural response to new and unfamiliar situations, and it can be a sign of growth and adaptation. Our experienced instructors, including Renars and Abbi Bundzis, are trained to handle these situations with care and patience, ensuring your child feels supported and encouraged every step of the way.
Lesson Schedule and Timing
  • All lessons are scheduled in 10 or 20-minute increments.
  • Lesson time begins at the scheduled start time or when your child enters the water if you arrive early. Lesson time will not be extended for late arrivals or for children refusing to enter the water.
  • Lesson duration may vary slightly based on your child's physical abilities, attention span, and willingness to learn during the session.
Cancellation Policies
Facilities and Comfort
  • If you need to cancel a lesson, 24 hours' notice is required.
  • Lessons canceled with less than 24-hour notice will be charged against your current package of lessons.
  • One emergency cancellation per household is allowed without charge.
  • If your child misses more than three lessons within an 8-week period, or has more than two 'no call, no show' incidents, their spot may be offered to someone on our waitlist.
  • There is a bathroom down the hall for older children to change.
  • A changing pad is available on deck for babies. An on-deck shower is available for rinsing off before and after lessons.
  • Parents are welcome to sit on the provided chairs to watch the lessons. If you feel your child will do better with you out of the room, you can watch from outside.
What You Need to Bring
  • Bathing suit
  • Goggles
  • Towel
  • For baby swimmers, be sure to bring a swim diaper
Payment and Renewal
Contact and Communication

  • During the last week of your current session, Abbi will automatically send an invoice for the next package unless you inform us that you wish to discontinue.
  • Open and honest communication is key. If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to speak with your instructor.
  • Regular attendance helps children become familiar with the environment, the instructor, and the routine, reducing anxiety over time.
